WHO AM I?

I am, basically, a Canadian / Quebecker French teacher with a cool sense of humour
who decided teaching / learning French should be fun.

The Canadian / Quebecker way.

Hi! I'm Michelle. I was born and raised in Canada / Quebec in a French family. I've been living in Montreal since 2010. Over the years, I've had the chance to meet people from all around the world, as most immigrants who move to Quebec usually decide to call Montreal their new home (as this is where you'll find most of the jobs and most of the fun). I was, however, often shocked to discover they didn’t speak French. Even though they took classes before getting here.

Why? Because most of them (for lack of better options or because they didn't know any better) took French classes given by teachers from France! So, when they arrived here, all happy and proud to use what they had been investing so much to learn, they quickly realized they couldn't understand most of what Canadians / Quebeckers were saying. If you ask me, there are cooler ways to waste your time, efforts and money. Like getting sick at the sugar shack in the spring, going on a hike in the fall or buying yourself a warm coat in winter.

I therefore decided to put my diplomas, skills and Quebecker culture to good use and to dedicate myself to francization. From October to June, I work full time for the Centre de services scolaire de Montréal, teaching Canadian / Quebecker French to immigrants in some of Montreal's coolest companies. And during the summer and in my free time, I give classes to people who, like you, plan to move to Canada / Quebec (or already did), and want to communicate with French Canadians / Quebeckers. And / Or to make more money (people who speak English AND French make, on average, $14,000 MORE per year in Quebec). And / Or to befriend or date Quebeckers (we can be quite endearing). Wherever you come from and whatever your motivation is, you are welcome!
